21 Sep Stanmore
Our visit to Stanmore certainly took our minds back to the Adventist pioneer days. The church building is 120 years old, the pulpit is one used by Ellen White, the pipe organ was built and installed just 4 years after being built. A wonderful painting (provide pic) by church member Paul Astwood (I have his pic) on the interior wall of the hall shows the grandeur of the building in 1898. Some founders include Stephen Haskell among others. This is the home base of The Mauritian Singers and Redeemed. We know that this church has been a beacon of strength over the years and they love beautiful gospel music. And we were privileged to lead the worship service. Well we gave you of our best with the choir and with the Quartet. We hope you were encouraged by Johns leading the lesson discussion and Scott’s sermonette. You gave us to opportunity to get to know you with a lovely lunch. We noticed that you have a prayer session right after the Divine Service. That is so wonderful. We will pray for you too from your prayer request responses.
